Airaa Academy’s Magical Annual Day Experience
Airaa Academy‘s annual day, held at the prestigious Dayanand Sagar auditorium, was a truly magical experience. I was particularly excited to witness my son Ishaan’s dance performance. I expected the usual song and dance routines based on popular Bollywood and religious tunes. The school’s innovative approach to storytelling took me by surprise.
The theme, “Fabled Mocktales,” was a brilliant concept that re-imagined classic fairy tales from both Western and Indian cultures. The performances were nothing short of extraordinary, with students from all grades showcasing their talents in singing, dancing, and acting.
The younger grades, from Kindergarten to Grade 4/5, brought a sense of wonder and innocence to the stage. Their performances were filled with energy and enthusiasm, captivating us with their colourful costumes and lively choreography.
The middle school students, displayed remarkable maturity and skill in their portrayals of complex characters. They delved deep into the themes of inclusivity, empowerment, and self-expression, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
The high school students, showcased their talent and creativity through stunning performances. Their synchronized dance routines, powerful vocals, and thought-provoking dialogues elevated the performance.
The reimagined version of Cinderella and Snow White, where the protagonists at first started out as traditional damsels in distress. Later they realized their own worth as strong, independent women. They a voice, with dreams and didn’t need a prince to rescue them. This empowering portrayal challenged traditional gender roles and inspired the audience.
The entire production showcased the hard work of the students, teachers, and staff at Airaa Academy.
I was deeply moved by the performances and proud to have my son enrolled at Airaa Academy. This event showcased the school’s commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social consciousness.
