2025 – October – Magic, Mutton, and Mission: How “AVA” Recharged Odyssey

Odyssey just received a powerful infusion of new blood and fresh energy. Following an electric “vision-mission” sharing session by the team calling themselves “AVA” (Anuroop, Vaishak, and Arjun), the chapter’s momentum reached an all-time high.

Supported by the ever-present guidance of our chapter’s “Godfather,” Williams, the team didn’t waste a second.

In a whirlwind of orchestration, a sudden potluck social was announced—scheduled for a beautiful Sunday just seven days away. Teams were assigned, invites flew out, and the excitement was palpable.

Hospitality at the Farm

Our host for the day was none other than Shwetha, the “Diva” behind the legendary ACN Silks.

She opened the gates to her stunning farmhouse near the airport, providing the perfect backdrop for Odyssey members and their families to converge for an afternoon of food and fun.

A Feast to Remember

The heart of any great social is the food, and this potluck did not disappoint. While Williams showed immense faith in me by assigning the “complicated” task of boiled eggs, I managed—with the much-needed help of Preeti and Ishaan—to add a small batch of home-made chocolate brownies to the mix!

The culinary highlights were truly legendary:

• The Showstoppers: A spectacular mutton biryani and mutton curry, lovingly prepared by Swetha and her sister.

• The Variety: A spread of diverse dishes brought by members that kept everyone coming back for seconds.

Games, Magic, and Laughter

As the afternoon rolled on, the entertainment took center stage. Nandan (Sucheta’s fiancé) kept us spellbound with his repertoire of card tricks, while Abhay organized a team game that had the entire group in fits of laughter.

Capturing the Moment

As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for more.

The weather was perfect, the golden hour light was hitting just right, and my trusty camera found plenty of willing subjects. The joy on everyone’s faces made my job easy; the spirit of Odyssey was captured in every frame.

Looking Ahead

There is a renewed sense of purpose and community within this team. If this social was a sign of things to come under the AVA leadership, we are in for an incredible journey.
