Mangalored

After the VERSYS BANGALORE RIDERS MEET at Chikmaglur, I headed for my week at Mangalore dealership. It was an important week to disburse the salaries to the staff.
Shiradi Ghats to Mangalore

A Sunday trip and shiradi ghat road was open only to light vehicles and two wheelers.

Met Akarsh for lunch at an awesome local joint called durga biryani.

Made it to mangalore in 3 hours thanks to the scant traffic on the newly opened shiradi ghat route.

They had a Sweet and Savoury pancake and waffle festival on at Diesel Cafe

But post that awesome biryani at 3 pm I wasn’t hungry. Tired though, as it was almost non stop from Sakleshpur.

Went next door to Crave and got a delicious chocolate shake to go. Headed to the room and I was out like a light by 9pm.

The week was largely spent with Ganesh, getting to know how he ran the place. Had some computer upgrades to do and speak to a modular furniture guy for the ELGI office re model. And discuss the salary structure!

Lunches were chosen by Ganesh, usually to a local fish place.

Machali, and another time, fish Chowki.

Couple of times visited other restaurants for disappointing “north Indian Grub”

Dinners and breakfast was dominated by trying different options at the diesel cafe.

Breakfast at indra bhavan on the day of the trip to Udupi

Had fresh uppit (upma) , avalakki (poha) and vade .. It was the best south Indian breakfast in a long time!

Am amazed at Mangalore’s food options. So much variety!

Took a Trip down to Udupi for some payment collection and customer visits with Ganesh.
To Bangalore – Via Shiraddi Ghat

Headed back to Bangalore. Was supposed to leave on Friday, but everyone at Mangalore Office had not taken too kindly to the Salary change. We had just migrated to an ESI / PF inclusive Salary structure. Though This structure, was giving them an effective rise in their overall salaries, the salary portion in-hand was reduced compared their previous take home.

I asked each person their salary expectation and surprisingly most were very reasonable and honest about their need. I have then an assurance to try and give them what they wanted

That evening i spoke to the partners, who witnessed a similar situation in Bangalore office.

Left the next day, back to bangalore. I left at 6:00am from The hotel. Watched a lovely sunrise enroute, but wasnt stopping to take pics. A brief stopover for breakfast at Saklesphur and I hit nelamangala by 11:30. A further 1.5 hours fighting bangalore traffic and i was back in the Bangalore office
