RoadTrip – Aura Foothills with Family

My Sister was down from US and there was no better occasion for us to meet my cousins from Hyderabad and Bombay in one place. 

A good friend of mine introduced me to Aura Foothills very close to Nandi Hills, about 1.5 Hours Away from home. 

The 5 bedroom Villa entirely occupied by our family, was beautiful, set literally on the foot hills of nandibetta. Rooms were spacious and clean and originally built as a home for a family to stay, but they weren’t able to make time off their schedules enough and they decided to rent it as a homestay for families requiring a breather from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore. 

The Food was simple but very well made, both Veg/ NonVeg. The caretakers catered to the varied tastes of everyone,  and the stay was largely without incident. 

The place has a lot of power cuts and there is that inconvenience of the power going out about 3 times a days for about half hour / an hour till the generator kicks in. 

The rooms though spacious had sliding doors which require a little pushing. But minor quibbles in an otherwise exemplary stay, especially for the price. We paid about 35K for 5 rooms, along with all meals / snacks etc. We took our own alcohol and mixers. We were up listening to music, catching up, etc upto 3am. 

Next morning we woke to the call of many peacocks around the greenery as early as 6-7am.. I was too tired to get up to have look, but my son did see some and he was excited!

There is a pool table, foosball, darts, and board games available as well.

I hope to visit this property again once their pool is ready.

Wanted to hire a 24-70 f2.8 for pictures, but couldn’t for want of time. Had to make do with my 55-300 and 35f1.8 for the pics. Again, not too many, as we had just one night , and we were all too busy having fun !!
