2021 – November – A Relaxing Escape to Machaan Plantation Resort with Family

Every year, my sister Aparna embarks on a whirlwind trip back to India. Her days are jam-packed with catching up on a lifetime of memories with friends, both old and new. While this is fantastic, it often leaves little room for quality family time. To ensure we get to spend some uninterrupted moments together, we try to whisk her away on a short getaway during her visit. This year, our destination of choice was the beautiful Machaan Plantation Resort, nestled amidst the rolling hills of Sakleshpur, roughly a 5-6 hour drive from Bangalore.

Machaan Plantation Resort proved to be the perfect escape. Our mornings were filled with refreshing walks through the lush greenery surrounding the resort. Aparna, ever the fitness enthusiast, even tackled a challenging climb up a nearby steep hill, while Ishaan and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll at the foothills. It was here that I stumbled upon a charming, ancient temple nestled near the base of the hill, its weathered facade whispering tales of times gone by.

Our afternoons were spent unwinding by the pool, punctuated by playful splashes with Ishaan. The evenings were a visual treat, with the setting sun painting the sky in a kaleidoscope of colors as we walked along pathways lined with vibrant greenery. Three blissful nights flew by in a flurry of laughter, conversation, and creating lasting memories.

On our return journey, we made a quick stop at the majestic Beluru Chennakeshava Temple:

Belur Temple, its intricate carvings a testament to the rich artistic heritage of the region. Throughout the trip, I couldn’t resist capturing candid moments of togetherness – these stolen snapshots are now some of my most treasured possessions.
