Ride to SeegeGudda, Hassan
Our office was closed on the account of Dassera today, and I had been yearning for a ride for some time now.
RTMC had posted an Announce Ride to Seegegudda, to see the windmills of Hassan for October 12th.
Shreyas, Diwakar, Lokesh and I met up at IOCL petrol pump, just after the turn-off towards Mangalore on the Bangalore -Mangalore Highway at 6:45 am.
We decided to get breakfast at this awesome local joint in Hassan called “HVR Veg“. This is like a cross between Bangalore’s Brahmins cafe with Vidyarthi Bhavan.
The weather was beautiful. Cool breeze, with sudden bursts of a light drizzle of rain. Traffic was scant due to the festival and soon we reached HVR at hassan.
The food was mind-blowingly awesome. The Vadas crisp, the benne and open dosa quite different from what you get in Bangalore. We were also very lucky to have visited during Dassera, as the place was hardly crowded. We ate, paid and head to Seegegudda
Seegegudda
Seegegudda is a small village, and the GPS stops here. The Road ahead is practically a gravel trail and a decent climb up. The Versys of apt for this terrain and I had fun climbing up to the top of the hill.
The views were awesome, and we spent about 45min to an hour here.
Preeti called around 10:30 am, to inform me about lunch plans in Jayanagar with mum and dad. I had to be back for lunch by 1 pm.
We left at 11:30 am and after a stop for fuel at Hassan, rode all the way to Jayanagar within 2.5 hours. Traffic was scarce, and the ride back was warm.
