The north-east work adventure – Jorhat

Day 13 – March 2 2020

Reached Dibrugarh by 11 am after a 730 am start. Was on my way to Chabua Air force base to meet Mr Mondal the airforce officer along with the Mieco pump by 11 30.

Heavy traffic owing to it being a Monday. And the skies were overcast like it would rain any minute.

An hour’s wait, and then Mr Mondal sent a corporal , Mr Sahu to the gate to help us with our entry. We got the pass surprisingly quickly by 1pm and I delivered the pump and was out by 1.25pm

We head back to Jorhat, having lunch on the way at Kaneng Dhaba in Moran.

Reached Jorhat by 630pm, freshened up a bit, took an update from J and Y about the days proceedings.

Walked up to Silkalay, a silk store chain across Assam, and picked up a saree for Preeti. I swapped the card, and it started pouring rain outside the shop.

Requested the store to send the saree to their Guwahati store after getting the fall stitched. I expect to be in Guwahati by Friday

Back to the hotel, set up the taxi to pick us up at 630 am, had dinner and lights out at 1130pm. The Tezpur leg starts tomorrow.
