700+km Breakfast Ride to Hampi

Manohar Joshi, the admin, the soul of the Versys Bangalore Riders group was about to complete 100000km on the Versys

What better way to celebrate this achievement than to get the guys to ride 750km to Hampi for a puliyogre breakfast

We started from Nelamangala Parle toll at 4am.

The roads were butter smooth and we made awesome time. By 6. 00 am we were in Hiriyur and by 9 am most had reached the designated breakfast point at the entrance of one of the gates of Hampi.

Shreyas, Uday and I arrived at the last, as we ended waiting at the Train for a good 20 minutes waiting for it to pass.

An hour’s worth of talk, puliyogre and leg-pulling, and cutting a freshly baked cake care of Shreyas Kashyap. A few photographs and we got back on the saddle by 1030am

The return leg we decided to go via Sandur instead. The route was scenic and beautiful, the only drawback was the humongous unmarked speed breakers every few hundred meters.

The road cut through the mountain ranges, with rolling green hills on either side. Although, there was a lot of truck traffic and lots of red dust.

I didn’t take many pics as I was interested to catch up to the group and head back home asap

The others left, and I was playing catch up. Uday and I did part of the Sandur road and Google decided to show us a way faster through kudligi town

We stopped for a refill of water and some bananas while we saw Murali and few others pass us by.

We got to the main highway by 12 pm, and from there it was lock throttle and ride. Met Manohar/Amogh/Mahesh/Sean/Capt/Murali/Sriraj and Madhu on the way back

Stopped twice for a coffee break, a petrol break and lunched on sandwiches and orange just before Tumkur.

Was home by 415 pm!

A good ride. With great company.
