2023 – Odyssey’s ASKs, & Gets! (A.S.K Term April – Sep 2023)

BNI India National Conference, Mahabalipuram

BNI’s Indian National Conference was held at Mahabalipuram, and 14 of us decided to attend this event. We made it a road trip, with a lot of fun at the resort and a lot of networking too.

I was unable to extract the maximum from this, as i was hit by a horrible migraine on Day 1 and i missed a lot of the event. I did manage to get speaking to 2 vendors, whom i hope to do more work with in the future.

I had the privileged company of 4 ladies, who put their hands up for a grandiose itinerary I had posted involving temple visits and sightseeing on the way to Mahabalipuram. None of which we managed to do. It was unexpected, and after an initial bout of trepidation on how i am going to survive with 4 women rambling away in the car, turns out it was for them to bear with me on the journey and not the other way round!!

We stayed at the Ideal Beach Resort in Mahabalipuram. Comfortable rooms, and access to the beach. We had drinks and food late into the night on the beach and in the patio of one of the rooms. Mihir had brought a hookah, and Deepak Jumani brought his boombox. The last day was an early morning of dramatic skies and a rough sea, made us frolick closer to the shore.

The trip was full of small incidents, and lot of laughs, and huge amount of learning. It was also a trip of missed communications, some inadvertent remarks, some misunderstandings and a ligament tear for Miss Ashrita by the beach.

In all, while I made a bunch of friends at this event, but i came away feeling like i’d lost a few too! ..
